BYD's premium Yangwang brand achieved a milestone by selling its first U9 Xtreme supercar, priced at over 2.6million €, to Australian buyer Nick Politis during the Beijing Auto Show on April 24.
The ceremonial handover was conducted by BYD Chairman Wang Chuanfu, signaling the production version's official debut. This exclusive model sports a striking black-and-gold exterior accented by a massive rear wing.
Capped at just 30 units worldwide, the U9 Xtreme is tailored for elite collectors pursuing the pinnacle of automotive rarity and prestige.
Powered by four electric motors—each delivering 555 kW—the supercar unleashes a staggering combined output of 2,220 kW (2,977 horsepower) via an advanced 1,200-volt architecture. It features a high-performance battery with a 30C discharge rate and specialized tires rated for 500 km/h speeds.
The U9 Xtreme clocked a lap time of 6 minutes and 59.157 seconds at Germany's legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife track. In German testing, it also hit a top speed of 496 km/h.
