Buyers in major EV markets continue facing severe supply shortages from Lucid, with zero vehicle registrations in Norway and only three in the Netherlands last month—two Gravity SUVs and one Air sedan. Entry-level pricing begins at €88,900 for the Air Pure in the Netherlands and NOK 950,000 in Norway. The Netherlands' complete zero-emission vehicle tax exemption ended in January 2026, transitioning to a 30% discount that reduces to 25% in 2029 before expiring entirely in 2030, driving up ownership costs.
Lucid plans to enter eight more European markets in 2026, expanding to a total of 12 countries. The process kicks off this summer with France and Belgium, followed by Denmark, Italy, and Spain. UK market entry has been pushed to 2027, aligning with Cosmos midsize SUV production in Saudi Arabia. Former interim CEO Marc Winterhoff indicated that the Air and Gravity's larger sizes currently constrain appeal, but midsize models launching from 2027 will broaden customer interest.
