### Nio ES9 Set for 620 km Range with 102-kWh Battery

Nio's upcoming flagship SUV, the ES9, will offer a maximum range of 620 kilometers under CLTC testing, based on a recent regulatory filing from China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). It features a 102-kWh battery pack weighing 545 kilograms and delivering an energy density of 187 Wh/kg. The vehicle's curb weight ranges from 2,845 to 2,915 kilograms, yielding CLTC ranges of 620, 600, or 580 kilometers depending on the configuration.

By comparison, Nio's current flagship SUV, the third-generation ES8, achieves a 635 km CLTC range with the same battery pack. The ES9 measures 5,365 mm in length, 2,029 mm in width, and 1,870 mm in height, with a 3,250 mm wheelbase—dimensions that surpass those of the ES8, which is 5,280 mm long, 2,010 mm wide, 1,800 mm tall, and shares the same wheelbase.

Nio president Qin Lihong noted last month that the ES9's technical launch is scheduled for around April 10, though the date may change. This timing suggests a possible debut at the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition, running from April 24 to May 3, 2026.

The ES9 incorporates Nio's latest advancements, including dual Shenji NX 9031 smart driving chips and the SkyRide chassis—features borrowed from the ET9 sedan. It has advanced beyond the Tooling Trial manufacturing phase and into pre-production, as Nio founder and CEO William Li announced in early January. All technologies debuting on the ET9 will transfer to the ES9, which Li positioned as more business-focused than the ES8.
