### Fuel Prices Move in Opposite Directions This Week
The second week of February brings mixed signals for fuel prices in Portugal: diesel remains steady while gasoline inches higher, based on data from Mais Gasolina.
For diesel drivers, the average price of simple diesel held steady at 1.586 €/l, dodging the expected decline but also avoiding any rise. Meanwhile, the average price of simple gasoline climbed 0.6 cents per liter to 1.67 €/l.
Major retailers made targeted changes. BP, Galp, and Repsol each reduced simple diesel prices by 0.5 cents per liter. On gasoline, prices rose by 1 cent per liter at BP and Repsol stations, and by 2 cents per liter at Galp.
These figures are from the Direção-Geral de Energia e Geologia (DGEG) and capture conditions as of Friday, February 6. They account for discounts from fuel companies and ongoing government measures. Keep in mind that these are national averages, which can vary by location.
