Tesla Models Become Smarter with Grok AI Rollout in Europe This Month

Tesla is rolling out the Grok AI assistant to its vehicles in Europe for free, enhancing the intelligence of its models through seamless integration. Developed by xAI, another Elon Musk venture, Grok is now available in nine European countries, including Portugal, via the latest software update 2025.26.2. Owners of eligible vehicles can download it remotely immediately.

Grok handles queries across a wide range of subjects, including physics, history, biology, math, and philosophy. Inside Tesla cars, it supports voice commands for navigation, allowing users to request destinations, adjust routes on the fly, and receive suggestions for nearby points of interest. It also provides quick access to the owner's manual, explaining dashboard alerts, offering usage tips, and recommending maintenance steps.

A standout feature is Grok's ability to adopt various personalities tailored to the driver's or passengers' preferences. Standard options include Assistant, Language Tutor, Therapist, Storyteller, Meditation Guide, Doctor, and Conspiracy Theorist. For children, kid-friendly modes offer bedtime stories and interactive quizzes. Adult-oriented (NSFW) profiles provide edgier vibes, such as Unhinged, Sexy, Motivational, Romantic, and Argumentative. Grok can switch between distinct personas—Ara, Eve, Leo, Rex, and Sal—each with unique vocal tones and behavioral traits.

The update applies to all eligible Tesla Model S, Model 3, Model X, and Model Y vehicles. To use it, a Premium Connectivity subscription or a stable Wi-Fi connection is required. Tesla emphasizes user privacy, noting that conversations remain anonymous and unlinked to the vehicle.

Looking ahead, the integration will evolve through automatic over-the-air updates, adding more knowledge and capabilities over time.
